About Us

The St. Anthony Companion is a publication of the Companions of St. Anthony, a ministry of the Our Lady of the Angels Province, USA of the Franciscan Friars Conventual.

The Franciscan Friars Conventual of Our Lady of the Angels Province form a part of the Franciscan family founded by St. Francis of Assisi. The roots of our Conventual tradition reach back to St. Francis of Assisi himself at the time of the founding of the Order.

The Our Lady of the Angels Province spans 19 (arch)dioceses of the Eastern United States and includes friars working in ministry in Brazil, England, and Ireland. The Provincialate is in Ellicott City, Md.

The mission of the St. Anthony Companion is to keep you informed on the work of our Friars serving the people of God in all walks of life, from vocations ministry to evangelization to development projects in the poorest regions of the world. The Franciscan Friars Conventual are inspired by the example of St. Francis of Assisi to work daily to serve the poor and marginalized among us. Education and pastoral ministry are also very much a part of Friars’ call to service. Subscribe to our e-newsletter for updates of this work.

The St. Anthony Companion is written and published by the Companions of St. Anthony and contributing partners in the Our Lady of the Angels Province.
